A Day In The Life of a Pet Care Specialist

 Hey my lovelies!

I work at a pet resort down in south Texas, and here is a day in my life!

7:00 a.m. We open! Take lodging dogs out for potty breaks and check in day care dogs. While the dogs are out of their enclosures, they will get fed and their enclosures will be cleaned. We also open patio doors and give any meds.

8:00 a.m. Finish up with the morning walks and continue checking in day care dogs. Clean the potty yards. Check the pool water. Start on services for the dogs. We have up to three 15 minute sessions with lodging dogs and up to five twenty minute with daycare. This is when we take out playgroups and individual dogs to cuddle and hang out.

10:30 a.m. Feed lunches and do a water check, make sure everyone is comfortable.

11:00 a.m. Lunch!

12:00 p.m. Noon walks, and clean up potty yards. Continue on services. We will also be checking in and out lodging dogs throughout the day, doing laundry, random cleaning and maintenance.

4:00 p.m. All services are completed, begin cleaning tasks. This could be cleaning off the yards with a bleach solution, washing down the day care room or the hallways. Continue checking out dogs and clean enclosures.

4:30 p.m. Dinners are started as well as evening potty walks.

6:00 p.m. At this point all the dogs that are checking out are gone and their enclosures are cleaned. Enclosures are marked for those going home the next day and prepped for those coming in. Patio doors are closed, lights are turned off, and dogs are ready for bed. We close up and go home.

This was a pretty simplified day in the life. Let me know if you have any questions. See you later.

Bye!
